BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Hayley Anderson has been selected as the Little East Conference Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week.

Anderson helped the Bears post a 2-1 record last week including a pair of Little East wins over Western Connecticut State University and Worcester State University. The San Antonio, Texas native went 2-1 competing at third singles, and teamed with sophomore Alisha Silva (Taunton, Mass.) for a 2-1 mark at the top doubles flight.

In BSU's 8-1 win over Western Connecticut, Anderson claimed a 6-3, 6-0 straight set win at third singles and teamed with Silva for an 8-4 decision at first doubles.

In the Bears' 8-1 triumph over Worcester State, Anderson and Silva garnered an 8-4 decision in doubles play, while Anderson also battled to a 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 straight set victory at #3 singles.

The BSU women's tennis team is currently 4-3 on the season and unbeaten in Little East play with a 3-0 conference mark. The Bears will host LEC rival Rhode Island College (7-1, 4-0 LEC) on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 PM at the Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts.
