WENHAM, Mass. -- In non-conference women's tennis action on Monday afternoon, the visiting Bears of Bridgewater State University posted a 9-0 victory over the Gordon College Fighting Scots.

Bridgewater improves to 2-0 on the season while Gordon falls to 0-3.

The Fighting Scots were outmatched by their guests, losing five of six singles matches in straight sets after ceding three straight matches in doubles play.

BSU sophomore Jenna Williamson (Ludlow, Mass.) paced the Bears with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at first singles while teaming with junior Ashley Pereira (Assonet, Mass.) for an 8-5 victory at the top doubles spot.

Junior Julie Kraby (Wrentham, Mass.) had an impressive showing on the court, teaming up with senior Bridget Murphy (Mattapoisett, Mass.) for an 8-3 win at second flight doubles before claiming a 6-0, 6-0 win at number three singles.  Murphy added a 6-3, 6-2 win at second singles.

The Fighting Scots return to play on Thursday, September 15 as they travel to face Endicott in a Commonwealth Coast Conference match. Bridgewater returns to action tomorrow as they host Suffolk at 3:30 p.m.
