Women's Tennis Notches Seventh Straight Win

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's tennis team won their seventh straight match as the Bears remained unbeaten on the season with an easy 9-0 victory over Little East Conference foe UMass Boston on Saturday afternoon.

Bridgewater improves to 3-0 in conference play with the win.  UMass dips to 5-4 overall and 0-3 in the Little East.

Senior captain Lauren Donnelly (Centerville, Mass.) paced the Bears who swept all three doubles flights and all six singles.  Donnelly teamed with fellow senior captain Jessica Francis (West Barnstable, Mass.) for an 8-4 triumph at the top doubles spot and posted a 6-0, 6-3 straight set win at first singles.  Francis also won in straight sets at the second singles flight, 6-4, 7-5.

Bridgewater State travels to Providence, Rhode Island next Saturday to face Little East foe Rhode Island College at noon.
