MILTON, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State College women's tennis team earned a 7-2 victory over Curry College in a non-conference match this afternoon in Milton.
BSC improves to 9-3 on the season with the win, while Curry dips to 4-11.
Sophomore Rachel Elman (Rehoboth, MA) highlighted the win for Bridgewater State. The Bears' top flight singles player came away with a 6-2, 6-4 straight set win in singles play, and teamed with freshman Bridget Murphy (Mattapoisett, MA) for an 8-2 victory at second doubles.
Junior Catarina Rosa (Fall River, MA) breezed to a 6-1, 6-0 win at fourth singles while also pairing up with senior Paula Araujo (Fall River, MA) for an 8-0 victory at third doubles.
Bridgewater wraps up the regular season schedule on Saturday as the Bears travel to Salem State College for a Little East Conference match with the Lady Vikings. A win over Salem coupled with a UMass Dartmouth loss to Rhode Island College, and BSC would earn a share of the conference regular season title along with UMass and RIC.
