Women's Tennis Nets 7-2 Little East Win over RIC

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Bridgewater State College women's tennis team remained undefeated in Little East Conference play as the Bears knocked off host Rhode Island College, 7-2, this afternoon in Providence.

Bridgewater improves to 7-1 on the season and a perfect 4-0 in the Little East standings. RIC falls to 5-4 overall and 3-1 in the LEC. The Bears have lost just one doubles match and two singles matches in Little East play this season. 

Junior classmates Catarina Rosa (Fall River, MA) and Paulina Ucher (Webster, MA) led the way for the Bears in the key conference victory.  Rosa won at fourth singles in straight sets (7-5, 6-1), while also teaming with senior Paula Araujo (Fall River, MA) for an 8-6 win at third flight doubles.

Ucher breezed to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at fifth singles and partnered with sophomore Rachel Elman (Rehoboth, MA) for an 8-1 win at second doubles.

BSC hosts Western Connecticut State University on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 in another key Little East Conference match.
