Simard Sets School Mark as Women's Swimming & Diving Splits Tri-Meet

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Sophomore Cailey Simard (Haverhill, Mass.) broke her own school record in the one-meter diving competition to lead the Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team at a tri-meet hosted by Brandeis University at the Linsey Pool.

The Bears (3-4) notched a 158-139 victory over Little East Conference (LEC) rival Keene State College and dropped a 158-128 decision to the host Judges. The win over Keene State marked the Bears' first against the Owls since 2006.

Simard captured top honors on the one-meter board with an 11-dive score of 454.00 points as she eclipsed her previous mark of 436.70 points set last season at the Little East Championships.

Junior Samantha White (Plymouth, Mass.) placed first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:18.24.

Juniors Jenna Fiebiger (Johannesburg, South Africa) and Brynn Murray (Chelmsford, Mass.) added second place performances for the Bears in the 100 freestyle (1:00.56) and 200 freestyle (2:11.38), respectively.

The Bears are back in the pool on Thurday night when they travel to Bentley University for a six o'clock meet with the Division II Falcons.
