Women's Swimming & Diving Posts 144-34 Win Over UMass Dartmouth

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team cruised to a 144-34 victory over Little East Conference (LEC) opponent UMass Dartmouth on Friday evening at the Moriarty Pool.

The Bears improve to 2-3 in dual meet competition on the season while the Corsairs fall to 0-2.

Junior Jenna Fiebiger (Johannesburg, South Africa) won two individual swimming events and swam a leg on the Bears' first-place 200 medley relay.

Fiebiger captured top honors in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:18.70. She was also the first to touch the wall in the 50 butterfly checking in with a time of 31.14 seconds.

The BSU foursome of Fiebiger, sophomore Julie Remson (Norwalk, Conn.) and juniors Samantha White (Plymouth, Mass.) and Brynn Murray (Chelmsford, Mass.) posted a time of 2:02.56 to win the 200 medley relay.

Remson also placed first in the 50 freestyle (31.52) while Murray won the 50 freestyle (27.10) and White was the top place-winner in the 50 breaststroke (35.24).

Sophomore Cailey Simard (Haverhill, Mass.) swept the diving events as she posted a season-best score of 290.5 points on the one-meter board and 279.0 points on the three-meter plank. Simard has placed first in each of the Bears' nine diving events this season.

The Bears also received winning performanes from junior Brianna Matte (Cumberland, R.I.) in the 100 individual medley (1:09.32), senior Jenna Maxim (Lakeville, Mass.) in the 100 freestyle (1:00.19) and sophomore Emily Bradford (Pittsfield, Mass.) in the 500 freestyle (5:56.92) as well as the 200 freestyle relay (1:55.14) featuring Maxim, junior Renee Goodale (Vineyard Haven, Mass.), freshman Nellie Peecher (Barrington, R.I.) and senior Hannah Geoffrion (Barnstable, Mass.).

Freshman Ava Anderson (Lynn, Mass.) recorded a career-best score of 195.65 points in the one-meter diving competition.

The Bears host the BSU Invitational on Saturday, December 2nd at 11:00 AM.
