COLCHESTER, Vt. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team opened the 2023-2024 dual meet schedule with a 114-101 setback to Division II Saint Michael's College on Saturday afternoon at the Ross Sports Center.

Sophomore Cailey Simard (Haverhill, Mass.) captured top honors in the one-meter diving competition with a score of 261.30 points.

Seniors Olivia Ranck (Wilbraham, Mass.) and Jenna Maxim (Lakeville, Mass.) finsihed one-two in the 100 backstroke. Ranck posted a winning time of 1:06.35 while Maxim touched the wall in a time of 1:08.02.

The Bears' junior foursome of Jenna Fiebiger (Johannesburg, South Africa), Olivia Pelletier (East Kingston, N.H.), Brianna Matte (Cumberland, R.I.) and Brynn Murray (Chelmsford, Mass.) placed second in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:51.08.
