Women's Swimming & Diving Splits Tri-Meet on Senior Day

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team competed in a tri-meet against Husson University and Regis College on Senior Day at Moriarty Pool.

Bridgewater split the tri-meet winning 199-78 over Husson and falling to Regis, 162-139. The Bears closed out the dual meet portion of the season with a 2-11 dual meet record. 

Prior to the meet, the Bears honored seniors Shae Aiguier (Braintree Mass.), Sarah Biltcliffe (Fall River, Mass.), Samantha Camara (New Bedford Mass.), Krystal Cappola (South Yarmouth, Mass.), Lisa Dynan (Hanover, Mass.), Mikaela Ross (Andover, Mass.), and Patty Upshaw (Petersham, Mass.).

Biltcliffe captured top honors in the 50 breaststroke (33.40) and finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.88).

Sophomore Nicole Moneghan (Lincoln, R.I.), Aiguier and freshman Abigail Bailey (Hanson, Mass.) placed second, third, and fourth, respectively, in the 50 backstroke. Abigail also recorded a second place performance in the 100 freestyle (1:03.12).

Junior Amanda Brennen (Waltham, Mass.) finished second in both the 200 freestyle (2:14.87) and 100 backstroke (1:11.18), while Ross finished right behind Brennen in the backstroke with a time of 1:12.26.

Junior Abbie Grant (Mansfield, Mass.) placed third in the 100 individual medley with a time of 1:10.90.

Freshman Jane Meyrick (Scituate, Mass.) placed third in both the 100 butterfly (1:09.68) and the 50 butterfly (30.58).

The BSU swimming & diving teams are off until next Saturday (Feb. 4) when they host Elms College at 1:00 PM.
