Women's Swimming & Diving Bests Babson, 126-90

BABSON PARK, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team recorded its first dual meet victory of the season as the visiting Bears downed Babson College, 126-90, on Thursday night at Morse Pool.

The Bears improve to 1-7 in dual meet competition, while the host Beavers fall to 0-13.

Freshman Adi Tobias (North Attleboro, Mass.) won two individual events and a relay to lead the way for the Bears. Tobias captured top honors in both the 200 individual medley (2:36.01) and the 200 backstroke (2:32.26).

Tobias, seniors Sarah Biltcliffe (Fall River, Mass.) and Shae Aiguier (Braintree, Mass.), and junior Rebecca Foster (Billerica, Mass.) opened the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay as the foursome posted a time of 2:03.90.

Biltcliffe added a first place performance in the 200 breaststroke as she recorded a career-best time of 2:40.96.

Junior Abbie Grant (Mansfield, Mass.) also won two individual events for Bridgewater State. Grant was the first to touch the wall in both the 200 freestyle (2:12.98) and the 200 butterfly (2:37.40).

Sophomore Nicole Moneghan (Lincoln, R.I.) rounded out the Bears' event winners as she placed first in the 1,000 freestyle (12:17.10).

The BSU women's swimming & diving team returns to action on Saturday afternoon at one as the Bears travel to Brandeis University for a tri-match with Brandeis and Keene State College.
