Women's Swimming & Diving Places Second at Colby-Sawyer Invitational

NEW LONDON, N.H. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team placed second out of five teams at the Colby-Sawyer Invitational on Saturday.

The Bears recorded 285 points as they finished behind only meet champion University of New England (502.5 pts).

Senior Sarah Biltcliffe (Fall River, Mass.) captured top honors in the 200 breaststroke (2:42.48), while junior Amanda Brennen (Waltham, Mass.) placed first in the 200 individual medley (2:26.29) to highlight the meet for Bridgewater State.

Biltcliffe also finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.68), and swam a leg on the Bears' second place 200 medley relay (1:59.41) along with senior Mikaela Ross (Andover, Mass.), junior Abbie Grant (Mansfield, Mass.) and sophomore Danielle Souza (Mansfield, Mass.).

Brennen added a second place finish in the 400 individual medley (5:15.26).

The Bears are off until Saturday, January 7th when they host Elms College at one.
