Women's Swimming & Diving Senior Night

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team hosted Division II Bentley University on Senior Night at the Moriarty Pool on Tuesday.

BSU seniors Krystal Cappola (South Yarmouth, Mass.), Allison Cuccoli (Westwood, Mass.), Michaela Pereira (Rehoboth, Mass.) and Olivia Sugrue (Wrentham, Mass.) were honored prior to the meet.

The Bears (4-10) dropped a 158-108 decision to the visiting Falcons (10-2).

Sophomore Amanda Brennen (Waltham, Mass.) recorded the highest placing at the meet for the Bears as she finished second in the 200 breaststroke with a career-best mark of 2:50.78.

Freshman Nicole Moneghan (Lincoln, R.I.) placed third in both the 1,000 freestyle (12:25.68) and the 200 backstroke (2:26.00).

Freshman Emma Cardarelli (Waltham, Mass.) posted a season-best time in the 100 freestyle as she placed third in the event with a time of 1:02.70.

The Bears' 400 medley relay squad featuring Moneghan, Pereira, junior Mikaela Ross (Andover, Mass.) and sophomore Abbie Grant (Mansfield, Mass.) posted a season-best time of 4:36.79 to place third in the event.

The Bears wrap up the dual meet portion of their schedule on Saturday when they travel to Regis College for a tri-meet with the Pride and Husson University.
