Women's Swimming & Diving Downs Babson, 126-93.

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Sophomore Shae Aiguier (Braintree, Mass.) and freshman Nicole Moneghan (Lincoln, R.I.) each won two individual events to lead the Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team to a 126-93 victory over visiting Babson College on Thursday evening at the Moriarty Pool.

The Bears improve to 4-7 in dual meet competition, while the Beavers fall to 1-13 on the season.

Aiguier captured top honors in both the 50 freestyle (28.39) and the 100 freestyle (1:01.58), while Moneghan placed first in the 1,000 freestyle (12:10.41) and the 500 freestyle (5:52.23).

Aiguier and Moneghan also swam a leg on the Bears' 400 freestyle relay squad along with sophomores Amanda Brennen (Waltham, Mass.) and Abbie Grant (Mansfield, Mass.). The foursome posted a time of 4:06.38.

Brennen, Grant, senior Michaela Pereira (Rehoboth, Mass.) and junior Mikaela Ross (Andover, Mass.) placed first in the meet opening 200 medley relay (2:06.40).

Brennen also won the 200 individual medley (2:31.58), while Grant posted the top performance in the 100 butterfly (1:07.55) and Pereira was the first to touch the wall in the 100 breaststroke (1:20.07).

Freshman Emma Cardarelli (Waltham, Mass.) rounded out the Bears' event winners as she placed first in the 200 freestyle (2:14.24).

The Bears are back in the pool on Friday evening when they host Brandeis University at six.
