Women's Swimming & Diving Splits Tri-Meet

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team split a tri-meet with Regis College and Eastern Connecticut State University on Saturday afternoon at the Moriarty Pool in Bridgewater.

The host Bears (1-2) edged Regis, 115-111, but dropped a 128-98 decision to Eastern Connecticut.

Freshman Nicole Moneghan (Lincoln, R.I.) paced Bridgewater State with a pair of wins. Moneghan was the first to touch the wall in the 200 freestyle as she posted a time of 2:08.63. Moneghan also captured top honors in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:46.80.

Freshman Laurinda Rocha (Brockton, Mass.) swept the two diving events. Rocha finished first on the one-meter board with a score of 205.45 points, and also captured top honors on the three-meter plank with 203.40 points.

In upcoming action, the Bears host UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday evening at six.
