BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior Sarah Rechtiene has been selected as the Little East Conference Swimmer of the Week.

Rechtiene posted a win and a personal best in the 100 breaststroke and swam on two winning relays in the the Bears' 120-117 dual meet victory over UMass Dartmouth.  The Southbury, Connecticut native touched the wall at 1:12.80 to capture the 100 breaststroke race, while contributing to the 200 medley (2:02.31) and 200 freestyle (1:48.86) relay teams.

Rechtiene also garnered first place in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:10.74 at the Louise Goodrum Invitational hosted by UMass Dartmouth this past weekend.

"A very well deserved honor for one of the hardest working swimmers on the team," said BSU head coach Michael Caruso.

The season continues for Rechtiene and her teammates on Wednesday evening when the Bears travel to Western New England University for a six o'clock dual meet with the Golden Bears.
