Pacheco, Elofson Earn All-NEISDA Honors

SOUTH KINGSTON, R.I. – Sophomore Brooke Pacheco (Bristol, R.I.) and junior David Elofson (Mansfield, Mass.) earned All-NEISDA honors during day one of the 2014 New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Division II/III Championships held at the University of Rhode Island on Friday.

Pacheco posted a score of 321.20 points on the three-meter diving board to place fifth in the event.  Elofson recorded a score of 263.55 points to finish eighth on the one-meter plank.  The top eight place-winners in each event earned All-NEISDA honors.

Top swimmers for the Bears were junior John Holmes (Norwood, Mass.) in the 50 freestyle and senior Chelsea Nolan (Lowell, Mass.) in the 500 freestyle.  Holmes placed ninth in the 50 with a time of 22.74 seconds, while Nolan finished tenth in the 500 with a time of 5:31.02.

The three-day championship meet continues on Saturday morning with the preliminary round getting underway at ten.
