Three Swimmers & Divers Qualify for NEISDA Championships

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University swimming & diving teams hosted day two of the BSU "Last Gasp" Open Invitational on Saturday.

Senior Matt O'Brien (Whitman, Mass.) qualified for the New England Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Division II/III Championships in both the 50 freestyle and 50 butterfly.  O'Brien posted a time of 24.44 seconds in the 50 free and a time of 29.66 seconds in the 50 fly.

O'Brien also posted a time of 55.94 seconds in the 100 freestyle to earn a b-cut in the event for the NEISDA Championships.

Sophomore Kerri Davis (Haverhill, Mass.) recorded a personal best time of 5:39.37 in the 400 individual medley to earn her first career NEISDA cut.

Freshman diver Brian Sheehan (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) posted a personal best score of 198.90 points on the one-meter board at the Wheaton Invitational as he qualified for the NEISDA Championships.  Sheehan recorded his first qualifying score (175.45 pts.) on Friday night during the diving portion of the BSU "Last Gasp" Open Invitational.
