Women's Swimming & Diving Places 5th at Little East Championships

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swimming and diving team finished in fifth place at the Little East Conference Championships hosted on Saturday by UMass Dartmouth.

The Bears recorded 127 team points finishing behing meet champion Keene State College (668 pts.), Eastern Connecticut State University (304), UMass (151) and Westfield State University (128).

Bridgewater's relay squad of junior Sarah Rechtiene (Southbury, Conn.), seniors Ariel Gillis (Blackstone, Mass.) and Nelia Borden (Westport, Mass.) and sophomore Michaela Pereira (Rehoboth, Mass.) posted the top performance for the Bears as they placed third in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 4:00.66.

After some time off, the Bears will return to action on January 8th when they travel to Elms College for a four o'clock dual meet with the Blazers.
