Women's Swimming & Diving Falls to Clark, 158-124

WORCESTER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swimming and diving team dropped a 158-124 decision to host Clark University in a dual meet held at the George F. Kneller Athletics Center.

Senior Ashley Dunican (Bennington, Vt.) and freshman Sarah Biltcliffe (Fall River, Mass.) each won a pair of events for the visiting Bears .Dunican captured top honors in the 50 backstroke (31.02) and 100 backstroke (1:07.81), while Biltcliffe placed first in both the 50 breaststroke (33.37) and 100 breaststroke (1:13.19).

Junior Sarah Rechtiene (Southbury, Conn.) added a victory in the 50 butterfly (30.65), while sophomore Michaela Pereira (Rehoboth, Mass.) touched the wall first in the 200 individual medley (2:31.15).

Senior Kimberly Minnette (South Easton, Mass.) qualified for the NEISDA Championships in the 50 breaststroke as it marked the first time in her career that she qualified for the postseason meet.

Next Saturday the Bears will compete at a tri-meet along with Eastern Connecticut State University and host University of Saint Joseph.
