Women's Swimming Falls to Eastern Connecticut State, 149-110

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swim team dropped a 149-110 decision to visiting Eastern Connecticut State University on Saturday afternoon at the Mary Jo Moriarty Pool in Bridgewater.

Although the Bears put forward a solid effort, Eastern Connecticut was dominant throughout the meet. The Warriors won nine out of the thirteen individual events, as well as one out of the two relays. Eastern Connecticut had eight different individual event winners, with only junior Nadine Menard (Woodstock, Conn.) posting multiple victories.  Menard captured both the 100 butterfly (1:04.06) as well as the 100 breaststroke (1:16.63).

Bridgewater State freshman Samantha Capone (Dracut, Mass.) was able to capture both diving events for the Bears.  She won both the one-meter (115.90 points) and three-meter (144.55 points) diving events.

The Bears (1-7) have a break from competition until Wednesday, January 12th when they host Elms College at 3:00 PM.  Eastern Connecticut (3-1) entertains Little East Conference foe Keene State College on Saturday, January 15th at 1:00 PM.
