WESTFIELD, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State College women's swimming and diving team dropped a 145-124 decision to Westfield State College this afternoon in Westfield. 

The Bears were led by freshmen Rhiannon White (Falmouth, MA) and Loren Phinney (Holbrook, MA). White placed first in three events: 50 butterfly, 100 butterfly, and 200 individual medley exhibition. Phinney won the 500 and 1,000 freestyles.

Senior Lindsey Malboeuf (Westford, MA), sophomore Jenna Tasse (Sturbridge, MA) and freshman Lauren Connolly (Lakeville, MA) each won two events to lead Westfield State.

The Owls evened their record to 3-3 while the Bears dropped to 3-7.

Westfield's three double winners were also members of the winning 200 medley relay squad in the meet's first event. Anchoring the relay was sophomore Angie Wasylik (Springfield, MA), who also won the 200 freestyle.

Malboeuf hit the wall first in the 50 and 100 backstrokes, Tasse took top honors in the 50 and 100 freestyles, and Connolly won the 50 and 100 breastrokes.

Also finishing first for the Owls was standout sophomore Kim Schmidt (Longmeadow, MA) in the one-meter diving.
