BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State College women's swimming and diving team dropped a 141-117 decision to visiting Plymouth State University this afternoon at the Mary Jo Moriarty Pool in Bridgewater.
Bridgewater State falls to 3-6 in dual meet competition with the loss, while Plymouth State improves to 4-1
Freshman Loren Phinney (Holbrook, MA) paced the host Bears as she won two individual events as well as a relay. Phinney posted winning times of 2:01.20 in the 200 freestyle and 2:21.24 in the 200 backstroke. She also saw a leg on BSC's victorious 200 medley relay squad (2:05.64).
Fellow freshman Bridget Hasson (Milton, MA) placed first in the 100 butterfly (1:07.30) and joined Phinney in the 200 medley relay.
Plymouth State freshman Jennifer Samaro (Salem, NH) placed first in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke events (1:18.89 and 2:48.90, respectively) and took top honors in the 200-yard individual medley (2:29.06).
