Womens' Swim Team Defeats WNEC, 147-113

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - The Bridgewater State College women's swim team knocked off visiting Western New England College this afternoon at the Mary Jo Moriarty Pool in Bridgewater.  The Bears won the meet by a score of 147-113.

After Bridgewater trumped WNEC in the 200-yard medley relay, junior Bryn Morwick (Indianapolis, IN) kept things going for BSC placing first in the 1,000-yard freestyle first with a time of 11:39:29.   Morwick also finished first in the 100-yard butterfly (1:05:54) and 500-yard freestyle (5:42:72).

Erica Robinson (Lynn, MA) and Katrina Scholtz (Amesbury, MA) placed first in both of their respective events, the 50 and 100 yard backstroke and breaststroke.

Jamie Campo (Port Jefferson, NY) was WNEC's best swimmer this afternoon, placing first in three freestyle events, the 50,100 and 200 yarders. Campo also helped lead her team to win the final event, the 200 yard freestyle relay (1:52:35).

BSC's women swimming and diving team (2-0)  travels to UMass Dartmouth Tuesday at 6 PM as they try to remain unbeaten on the season. WNEC (0-1) hosts Western Connecticut State University on Friday the 21st at 6 PM as they try to rebound from today's loss.
