Women's Swim Team in 9th Place at NEISDA Championships

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State College women's swimming & diving team is in 9th place in a 21-team field after the second day of action at the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Division II/III Championships held on the campus of UMass Dartmouth.

The Bears tallied 217 points over the first two days of events. Keene State is in first place with 649 points followed by Bentley University with 563.

Four BSC swimmers and two relay teams were in Saturday evening's finals.

Junior Bryn Morwick (Indianapolis, IN) captured All-NEISDA honors as she placed second in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:54.41.  Mowick also earned All-NEISDA honors in the 200 individual medley on Friday night.

Senior Sarah Fuller (Palmer, MA) posted an eighth place finish in the 200 freestyle (2:04.28), while fellow senior Erica Robinson (Lynn, MA) was 14th in the 100 backstroke (1:07.17).  Freshman Jennifer Jason (Montague, MA) also placed 10th in the 50 butterfly (:29.19).

The 200 medley relay team of Robinson, Morwick, Jason and Fuller was sixth in the event with a time of 1:59.65.  The 800 freestyle relay team consisting of sophomore Kristen Slagmolen (Woburn, MA), freshman Caroline Murphy (Wilbraham, MA) and seniors Carly Lindahl (Waltham, MA) and Meghan Kennedy (Dracut, MA) finished in 15th place with a time of 9:05.16.

The championship meet will conclude on Sunday.
