DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The visiting Bridgewater State University women's soccer team edged UMass Dartmouth, 2-1, on Tuesday night at Cressy Field.

The Bears improve to 8-5 with the win, while the Corsairs fall to 2-7-5. Bridgewater is now 15-16-3 all-time against UMass with a 10-7-1 mark on the road as the two teams have played every season since 1989.

Senior forward Audra McDuffie (Millbury, Mass.) converted off a corner kick in the 12th minute to give the Bears the early 1-0 lead. Sophomore forward Sklyar Conrad (Walpole, Mass.) assisted on the strike as she sent the corner into the six. The ball went directly to McDuffie who buried a shot into the center of the cage for her third goal of the season.

Bridgewater would take the 1-0 lead into the break.

Sophomore forward Olivia Robarge (Pepperell, Mass.) extended the BSU advantage to 2-0 in the 59th minute with her fourth goal of the season. Conrad and senior midfielder Sydney Dewhurst (East Bridgewater, Mass.). assisted on the goal. Off a nice pass from Dewhurst, Robarge dribbled in all alone into the right side of the 18 and ripped a high shot from 15 yards out that deflected off the outstretched hands of the leaping netminder and into the back of the net.

Senior midfielder Mya Parker (Fall River, mass.) cut the UMass deficit to 2-1 in the 77th minute with her first goal of the season. Junior defender Bella Rita (Wilbraham, Mass.) picked up the assist.

UMass finished with a 13-12 shot advantage as well as a 4-2 edge in corner kick attempts. Of the Corsairs' 13 shots, only five were on frame.

BSU sophomore goalkeeper Logan Levesque (Bristol, R.I.) turned aside four shots to pick up her seventh win of the season and 17th of her career.

Freshman netminder Grace Conti (Shrewsbury, Mass.) made six saves between the pipes for the Corsairs.

The Bears entertain Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) rival Westfield State University on Saturday at noon. The two teams are tied atop the MASCAC standings with perfect 5-0 conference marks.
