BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman defender Kassidy Campbell has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week.

Campbell helped lead a strong defensive effort as the Bears' backline allowed just nine shots on goal in a perfect 2-0 week which included a pair of shutout victories over Rhode Island College and MASCAC foe MCLA. The Norton, Massachusetts product did not come off the field in BSU's two games as she played all 180 minutes.

Campbell has started each of the first six games of her rookie season. The Bears have produced three shutouts during that span as well as a solid 1.00 goals against average.

The BSU women's soccer team is currently 3-3 overall on the season and 1-0 in MASCAC play. The Bears will host non-conference opponent Salve Regina University on Tuesday night at seven.
