Courtney Pepin Named MASCAC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the third straight week, Bridgewater State University freshman forward Courtney Pepin has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week.

Pepin found the back of the net in Bridgewater State's 6-0 MASCAC shutout over MCLA this past weekend.  The Uxbridge, Massachusetts native has now scored at least one goal in three of the Bears' last four games.

Through15 games this season, Pepin has recorded seven goals and four assists for 18 points. She leads the team in assists and is one of just two players on the squad to play and start all 15 games.

Pepin presently ranks seventh in the MASCAC in goals and is tied for seventh in assists.  She is also eighth overall in the conference in scoring.

The BSU women’s soccer team is currently 6-9 on the season and 3-3 in conference play. The Bears, who are in fifth place in the MASCAC standings, travel to UMass Boston on Tuesday afternoon for a 3:30 non-conference game with the Beacons, and then wrap up regular season play on Saturday afternoon (2:30) when they head to Salem State University for a key MASCAC tilt with the Vikings.  A win over the Vikings would give the Bears the #4 seed in the upcoming MASCAC Tournament and a first round home game.
