BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the third time this season, Bridgewater State University junior Kevin McBirney has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

McBirney placed tenth out of a field of 274 runners at the Suffolk Invitational held this past weekend at Franklin Park in Boston. The East Bridgewater, Massachusetts product covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 26:00.3 as he helped the Bears finish ninth in the team standings.

McBirney also earned the honor on September 19th and October 3rd for his respective performances at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational and the Keene State Invitational.

The BSU men's cross country team is off until Friday, October 27th when the Bears compete at the MASCAC Championships hosted by Worcester State University at the Fort Devens Course in Devens, Massachusetts.
