BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University junior Kevin McBirney has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

McBirney placed third out of a field of 232 runners this past weekend at the Keene State Invitational. The East Bridgewater, Massachusetts native covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 25:40.6 as he helped the Bears place eighth overall in the team standings.

McBirney also earned the honor on September 19th for his performance at the 50th Annual UMass Dartmouth Invitational.

The BSU men's cross country team is off until Saturday, October 14th when the Bears travel to Franklin Park in Boston for the Suffolk Invitational.
