BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Braden Boucher has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week.

Boucher placed sixth at the 2022 MASCAC Men’s Cross Country Championships held this past weekend at Stanley Park in Westfield. The Lowell, Massachusetts product covered the eight-kilometer course in a career-best time of 27:51.04 as he helped the Bears capture the program's eighth conference title and first since 2019.

For his outstanding performance at the championship meet, Boucher was named the MASCAC Rookie of the Year.

Boucher also garnered MASCAC Rookie of the Week honors back on September 6th for his performance at the 8th Annual Wheaton & Babson Season Opener.

Following a week off, the BSU cross country teams will compete at the New England Division III Championships hosted by Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine on Saturday, November 12th.
