BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the third time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Trevor Wysong has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week.

Wysong garnered MASCAC Rookie of the Year and All-Conference honors as he placed fourth this past weekend at the 2016 MASCAC Cross Country Championships hosted by Fitchburg State University at Doyle Community Park in Leominster.

A native of Taunton, Massachusetts, Wysong covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 26:41 as he was the top rookie harrier at the meet.

Wysong helped the Bears finish third overall in the team standings.

After a week off, the BSU men's cross country team will compete at the New England Division III Championships hosted by Westfield State University at Stanley park on November 12th.
