BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman Trevor Wysong has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week.

Wysong was the Bears' top runner at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational held this past weekend on the UMD campus. The Taunton, Massachusetts product covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 26:30.30 as he finished 40th out of a field of 242 runners.

As a squad, the Bridgewater State placed 11th out of 33 teams at the meet, and second among the six MASCAC entries.

This coming weekend, the Bears will compete at the 48th Annual Codfish Bowl held at Franklin Park in Dorchester, Massachusetts.
