Men's Cross Country Places 15th at Conn. College Invitational

WATERFORD, Conn. -- The Bridgewater State University men's cross country team placed 15th at the Connecticut College Invitational held on Saturday at Harkness Memorial State Park.

Sophomore Joseph Keough (Walpole, Mass.) was the Bears' top runner as he completed the eight-kilometer course in a time of 26:50.0 to finish 80th out of a field of 241 runners.

Freshman Joshua Higgins (Fitchburg, Mass.) crossed the line in 27:48.8 to place 129th overall, while junior Zachary Viera (Fairhaven, Mass.) rounded out BSU's top three harriers with a time of 27:52.3 (133rd place).

Tim Nichols of Tufts University won the individual title with a time of 24:11.1. Claremont-Mudd Scripps placed first in the team standings followed by Middlebury College and host Conn. College.

After a week off, the Bears will compete at the MASCAC Championships hosted by Fitchburg State University on October 29th.
