Men's Cross Country Places Second at Jim Sheehan Invitational

LEOMINSTER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's cross country team placed second at the season-opening Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational hosted by Fitchburg State University on Saturday at the Doyle Conservation Center in  Leominster, Massachusetts.

 Senior Justin Lucier (Attleboro, Mass.) was the Bears' top runner as he covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 27:44. Lucier finished eighth out of a field of 97 runners.

Freshman Trevor Wysong (Taunton, Mass.) was next across the line for the Bears as he placed tenth with a time of 27:58. Wysong was followed by junior Joseph Kisamore (Attleboro, Mass.) who checked in at 16th overall (29:03). 

Freshman Joshua Higgins (Fitchburg, Mass.) rounded out the Bears' top 20 performers as he placed 17th with a time of 29:06.

Brian Amaral of host Fitchburg State captured the individual title with a time of 26:15, while Westfield State University won the team title.

After a weekend off, the Bears will compete at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, September 17th.
