Men's Cross Country Picked Third in MASCAC Preseason Poll

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University Bears have been picked to finish third in the MASCAC Men's Cross Country Preseason Poll.

The Bears garnered 26 points in the voting of the league's seven coaches.

Defending champion Westfield State University is the preseason favorite to place first at the MASCAC Championships on Halloween (Oct. 31) as the Owls tallied 36 points including six first place votes. Fitchburg State University followed in the poll with 28 points including a first place vote.

Returning to the Bears' lineup from last season are senior co-captain Mark Waller (Andover, Mass.), junior co-captain Justin Lucier (Attleboro, Mass.) and sophomores Liam Connors (New Bedford, Mass.), Joseph Kisamore (Attleboro, Mass.) and Michael Sanpietro (South Easton, Mass.).
