Men's Cross Country Places Third at MASCAC Championships

PAXTON, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University men's cross country team competed at the 2015 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Championships held on Saturday at Moore State Park in Paxton.

The Bears (78 pts.) placed third in the MASCAC team standings trailing Westfield State University (41 pts.) and conference champion Fitchburg State University (24 pts.).

BSU junior Justin Lucier (Attleboro, Mass.) was the Bears' top placewinner as he covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 28:03 to finish eighth overall. Lucier earned All-MASCAC honors.

Senior Mike Skelly of Westfield State captured the individual title with a winning time of 26:35.

Senior Mark Waller (Andover, Mass.) was the next Bear to cross the finish line as he posted a time of 28:16 to place 11th overall. Freshmen Joseph Keough (Walpole, Mass.) and Seth Jefferson (Chelmsford, Mass.) rounded out BSU's top 20 performers as they finished 18th (28:46) and 19th (28:50), respectively. 

Next Saturday, the BSU cross country teams compete at the ECAC Division III Championships hosted by Williams College.
