Men's Cross Country Places 23rd at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's cross country team placed 23rd out of a field of 43 teams at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday.

 Junior Justin Lucier (Attleboro, Mass.) was the Bears' top runner as he placed 108th overall. Lucier covered the five-mile layout in a time of 27:38.05. Ignatio Hernando of Southern New Hampshire captured the individual title with a time of 25:13.61.

Brandeis University captured the team title followed by East Stroudsburg in second place and Connecticut College in third.

Senior captain Mark Waller (Andover, Mass.) was the next Bear to cross the finish line. Waller posted a time of 27:39.97 to finish 113th overall.  Freshman Joseph Keough (Walpole, Mass.) capped off BSU's top three runners with a time of 28:13.68.  Keough placed 142nd overall.

After a weekend off, the BSU cross country teams will compete at the Tri-State Invitational hosted by CCRI on October 3rd.
