Andy Sukeforth Named MASCAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For an impressive fourth time this season, Bridgewater State University senior Andy Sukeforth has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Sukeforth placed 30th out of a field of 373 runners to earn All-New England honors at the NCAA Division III New England Men's Cross Country Championships hosted by Williams College at the Mount Greylock High School course.  The Middleboro, Massachusetts product covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 26:14.2 as he led the Bears to an 18th place finish in the team standings.

Sukeforth is one of 280 runners, including 49 from the New England region, competing at the NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championships next weekend at The Golf Center at King's Island in Mason, Ohio.  Wilmington College is the host school and the meet is slated to get underway on Saturday at 11:00 AM.

Sukeforth is the first BSU men's harrier to compete at the national championship meet since Stephen Wahome in 2011, and just the third in the last ten years (Avery Bouchard, 2008).
