Waller Leads Men's Cross Country at James Earley Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Junior Mark Waller (Andover, Mass.) placed 34th out of a field of 388 runners to lead the Bridgewater State University men's cross country team at the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State University on Saturday at Stanley Park.

The Bears placed 22nd overall in the team standings.  Host Westfield State captured the team title followed by Williams College in second place and Vassar College in third.

Waller covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 26:54.90.  Cole Townsend of Williams checked in with the winning time of 25:49.44.

Freshman Joseph Kisamore (Attleboro, Mass.) was the next Bear to cross the line. Kisamore posted a time of 29:02.52 to finish 141st overall.  Classmate Benjamin Gordon (Holbrook, Mass.) capped off BSU's top three runners with a time of 29:58.50.  Gordon placed 209th.

Next weekend, the BSU cross country teams will compete at the Conn. College Invitational held at Harkness State Park in Waterford, Connecticut.
