Men's Cross Country Places 17th at UMD Invitational

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's cross country team placed 17th out of 28 teams at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday.

Junior Dallas O'Brien (Mansfield, Mass.) paced the Bears as he completed the eight-kilometer course with a time of 27:14 to finish 39th overall.

Freshman Ben DiNobile (East Greenwich, R.I.) was next across the line for Bridgewater State in 80th place with a time of 28:24. He was followed by junior John Breault (South Dartmouth, Mass.) in 106th place with a time of 29:02.

Rounding out the BSU harriers, sophomore John Whittemore (Canton, Mass.) and junior Mike Gillis (Norton, Mass.) placed 159th (30:52) and 185th (33:22), respectively, while freshman Andrew Single (Walpole, Mass.) finished 198th (37:25) and freshman Charles Hill (Groton, Mass.) finished 200th (38:06).

After a week off, the Bears will compete at the Tri-State Invitational hosted by CCRI on Saturday, October 5th.
