Men's Track & Field Competes at Tufts Invitational

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University men's indoor track & field team competed at the non-scoring Tufts Invitational on Saturday.

Freshman Joshua Higgins (Fitchburg, Mass.) captured top honors in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:23.47. Higgins qualified for both the Division III New England Championships and NEICAAA Championships in the event.

The Bears' foursome of freshmen Olivier Ndikumana (Amherst, Mass.), Kyle Cordeiro (Westport, Mass.) and Lamont Haynes (Boston, Mass.), and junior Michael Kotleski (Great Barrington, Mass.) finished second in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:30.14.

Kotleski also added a fourth place showing in the 400-meter dash (53.00), while junior Rotcheeld Michel (Walpole, Mass.) finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (10.24) and sophomore Alex Goss (North Dighton, Mass.) placed fifth in the 200-meter dash (23.31).

Freshman Nick Johnson (Marstons Mills, Mass.) checked in with an eighth place performance in the weight throw. Johnson recorded a season-best mark of 47 feet, 10.5 inches (14.59m) as he qualified for the Division III New England Championships in the event.

Next Saturday, the BSU track & field teams will compete at the Wheaton Invitational.
