Conor Murtagh Named MASCAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the fourth straight week and eighth time this season, Bridgewater State University senior Conor Murtagh has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Murtagh placed fifth in the finals of the 110-meter hurdles to earn All-American honors at the 2016 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships held last week at Warburg College in Waverly, Iowa. The Walpole, Massachusetts native posted a finals time of 14.38 seconds to record his fifth straight All-American performance in the hurdles (three outdoor, two indoor).

The MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week honor marks the 23rd of Murtagh's impressive career including 12 outdoor distinctions.

Murtagh ends his career as the Bears' outdoor record-holder in the 110-meter hurdles (14.17) as well as the school indoor record-holder in both the 55-meter hurdles (7.69) and the 60-meter hurdles (7.96).
