Conor Murtagh Named MASCAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the fifth time this season, Bridgewater State University senior Conor Murtagh has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Murtagh captured the New England title in the 110-meter hurdles at the Division III New England Championships held at Springfield College this past weekend. The Walpole, Massachusetts product posted a finals time of 14.45 seconds to win the event. 

The Bears' four-time All-American (two indoor, two outdoor) is currently tied for ninth in all of Division III in the hurdles.

The MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week honor marks the 20th of Murtagh's impressive career including nine outdoor distinctions.

Murtagh currently holds the BSU outdoor record in the 110-meter hurdles (14.17) as well as the school indoor marks in both the 55-meter hurdles (7.69) and the 60-meter hurdles (7.96).

Next weekend, the BSU outdoor track & field teams will be competing at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships hosted by Southern Connecticut State University.
