Conor Murtagh Named MASCAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the third straight week, Bridgewater State University senior Conor Murtagh has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

A native of Walpole, Massachusetts, Murtagh captured top honors in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.83 seconds at the Jerry Gravel Classic hosted by Westfield State University this past weekend. He also ran a leg on the Bears’ 4x100-meter relay which placed third in the event with a season-best and ECAC Division III Championships qualifying time of 43.15 seconds.

The Bears' four-time All-American (two indoor, two outdoor) currently ranks 11th in all of Division III in the 110-meter hurdles.

The MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week honor marks the 18th of Murtagh's impressive career including seven outdoor distinctions.

Murtagh currently holds the BSU outdoor record in the 110-meter hurdles (14.17) as well as the school indoor marks in both the 55-meter hurdles (7.69) and the 60-meter hurdles (7.96).

Next Saturday, Murtagh will be competing at the George Davis Invitational hosted by UMass Lowell.
