Men's Track & Field Competes at ECAC Championships

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Qualifying members of the Bridgewater State University men’s track & field team competed during day one of the 2016 ECAC Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships held on Friday at the Ocean Breeze Park Athletic Complex in Staten Island, New York.

Senior Conor Murtagh (Walpole, Mass.) finished second in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles as he posted a time of 8.17 seconds.

Classmate Andrew Couture (Dighton, Mass.) recorded a personal-best time of 6.96 seconds in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash to finish fourth.

Murtagh and Couture both advance to the finals on Saturday.

Sophomore Cameron Williamson (Easton, Mass.) garnered All-ECAC honors as he placed fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 46 feet, three inches (14.10m).

The Bears’ distance medley relay featuring junior Justin Lucier (Attleboro, Mass.), sophomores Joseph Kisamore (Attleboro, Mass.) and Michael Kotleski (Great Barrington, Mass.) and freshman Adrian Higgins (Milton, Mass.) placed 12th in the event with a time of 10:28.62.

Day two of the ECAC Championships gets underway on Saturday at 10:00 AM.
