WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Qualifying members of the Bridgewater State University men's outdoor track & field team competed during day one of the 2016 ECAC Division III Championships on Wednesday hosted by Westfield State University.

Senior Conor Murtagh (Walpole, Mass.) placed first in the preliminaries of the 110-meter hurdles, with a time of 14.21 seconds, while classmate Andrew Couture (Dighton, Mass.) finished seventh in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.80 seconds.

Both Murtagh and Couture advanced to Thursday's finals in their respective events.

Sophomore Cameron Williamson (Easton, Mass.) placed 11th in the triple jump with a leap of 43 feet, five inches (13.23 meters).

The ECAC championship meet continues on Thursday with field events getting underway at 11:00 AM and track events beginning at noon.
