Men's Track & Field Competes at UMD Corsair Classic

DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- Three different Bears earned event wins to lead the Bridgewater State University men's outdoor track & field team at the rain-soaked Corsair Classic hosted by UMass Dartmouth on Saturday.

Senior Conor Murtagh (Walpole, Mass.) captured top honors in the 110-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 14.86 seconds. Murtagh currently ranks seventh in all of Division III in the event.

Classmate Andrew Couture (Dighton, Mass.) posted the top performance in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.66 seconds.

Sophomore Cameron Williamson (Easton, Mass.) placed first in the triple jump with a leap of 44 feet, 1.5 inches (13.45m). Williamson qualified for the Division III New England Championships in the event.

Sophomore Michael Kotleski (Great Barrington, Mass.) finished second in the 400-meter dash (51.52), while senior Carlton Williamson (Easton, Mass.) placed third (51.57). Williamson was also fourth in the long jump (19'8"/5.99m).

The Bears' 4x400-meter relay team featuring junior Justin Lucier (Attleboro, Mass.), sophomores Liam Connors (New Bedford, Mass.) and Joseph Kisamore (Attleboro, Mass.), and freshman Joseph Keough (Walpole, Mass.) finished third with a time of 4:11.59.

Lucier and Kisamore also placed third (2:01.66) and fourth (2:01.77), respectively, in the 800-meter run.

Sophomore Brayden Hollowell (Nashua, N.H.) finished third in the shot put (42'5.5"/12.94m) and senior Mark Waller (Andover, Mass.) added a fourth place showing in the 10,000-meter run (35:10.08).

Freshmen Alex Goss (North Dighton, Mass.) and Brandon Houle (Cumberland, R.I.) rounded out the Bears' top five performers as they both finished fifth in their respective events. Goss posted a time of 11.63 second in the 100-meter dash, while Houle tossed the javelin 144 feet, eight inches (44.10m).

Next weekend, the Bears will compete at the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by AIC.
