BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman Cameron Williamson has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.

A native of Easton, Massachusetts, Williamson captured top honors in the triple jump at the 8th Annual ECSU Invitational with a season-best leap of 45 feet, 6.25 inches (13.87 meters). He helped the Bears win the meet title by a decided margin over runner-up and host Eastern Connecticut State University.

During the winter indoor season, Williamson garnered All-ECAC honors in the 4x200-meter relay and All-New England Division III accolades in the triple jump. He was also a two-time MASCAC Rookie of the Week as well as a two-time MASCAC Field Athlete of the Week.

The schedule continues for the BSU track & field teams on Saturday when they compete at the MASCAC/New England Alliance Championships.
