MEDFORD, Mass. -- Senior Brian Espinosa (Rehoboth, Mass.) captured the meet title and set the school record in the long jump to lead the Bridgewater State University men's indoor track & field team at the Tufts Cupid Challenge on Saturday.

The Bears placed seventh in the team standings with 46 points.  Coast Guard finished first with 91 points followed by the host Jumbos (85 pts.) and MIT (83 pts.).

Espinosa recorded a leap of 23 feet, four inches (7.11 meters) as he eclipsed teammate Chris Perry's previous indoor program mark of 23 feet, 3.5 inches (7.10 meters) set at the season-opening UMass Boston Invitational. Espinosa currently ranks fourth in all of Division III in the long jump.

Junior Conor Murtagh (Walpole, Mass.) also won the meet title in the 60-meter hurdles with a finals time of 8.39 seconds, while classmate Andrew Couture (Dighton, Mass.) placed second in the 60-meter dash with a finals time of 7.04 seconds.

Senior Josh Goehring (Haverhill, Mass.) finished fourth in the 1,000-meter run (2:35.70), while freshman Hueston Brathwaite (Randolph, Mass.) placed fourth in the 200-meter dash (23.22).

Freshman Isaiah Matier (North Easton, Mass.) rounded out the Bears' top five placewinners as he finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 21 feet, 2.75 inches (6.47 meters).
