Josh Goehring Named MASCAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior Josh Goehring has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

A native of Haverhill, Massachusetts, Goehring captured top honors in the 800-meter run at the Jerry Gravel Classic this past weekend. He posted a time of 1:54.40 as he helped the Bears finish in second place at the meet.

Goehring currently ranks 30th in all of Division III in the 800 and has qualified for both the Division III New England Championships and ECAC Division III Championships in the event.

Through four seasons on the indoor track & field team and three on the outdoor squad, Goehring has captured six MASCAC individual titles and four relay. He also earned All-New England Division III honors in the 600-meter run in both 2013 and 2015, the 800 in the spring of 2013 and the 4x800 relay in the spring of 2012.

Goehring also competed on the BSU men's soccer team each of the last four seasons. A defender, Goehring played in 45 career games (30 starts) with a goal and three assists to his credit.

The 2015 outdoor track and field season continues for Goerhing and his teammates this upcoming weekend when the Bears compete at the 9th Annual ECSU Invitational on Friday and the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton on Friday and Saturday.
